Dark Lotus Tattoos — The Heart Behind the Ink

Tucked away in the heart of Marble Falls, Dark Lotus Tattoos was built on the belief that getting tattooed should feel as personal and transformative as it is artistic. Founded by Tedd and Alison, two artists with deep roots in both craftsmanship and compassion, the studio was created to be something rare in the tattoo industry — a space that feels equal parts art gallery, sanctuary, and home.

Tedd has been tattooing professionally since 1998, bringing more than two decades of experience, steady hands, and creative vision to every piece. Originally from the Pacific Northwest, he settled in Texas in 2017, blending traditional and modern tattoo styles with striking precision and soul. His work carries the quiet confidence of a seasoned artist who has dedicated his life to the craft.

Alison, co-owner and artist, began her tattooing journey after a long career in emergency veterinary medicine and many years as a professional piercer. That background shaped her into the artist she is today — detail-oriented, emotionally intelligent, and deeply attuned to her clients’ comfort and care. Having relocated to Texas in 2020, she found purpose in combining her medical precision with her creative drive. Her style leans toward fine-line, stipple, and meaningful storytelling tattoos that turn memory into art.

Together, Tedd and Alison founded Dark Lotus Tattoos to create a studio that reflects their values — clean, calm, and compassionate, yet full of creative energy and individuality. The shop blends the professionalism of a medical practice with the warmth of a bed-and-breakfast, where every client feels safe, seen, and valued. Cleanliness, emotional awareness, honest communication, and fair pricing are the foundation of everything they do.

The name Dark Lotus carries deep significance. Like the lotus flower that blooms beautifully from murky water, the studio represents growth through struggle, beauty through resilience, and transformation through art. It’s a reminder that something extraordinary can rise from any circumstance.

Their logo, featuring Lilith the raccoon, brings that symbolism to life with personality and heart. Lilith was an orphaned raccoon Alison and Tedd adopted — a scrappy survivor with a mischievous spirit who quickly became part of their story. Her image now represents the shop’s guiding spirit: resourceful, resilient, and unapologetically original.

Looking ahead, Tedd and Alison hope to extend the spirit of Dark Lotus beyond Marble Falls with plans to open a second location in Puerto Rico, traveling between both studios to share their art, their philosophy, and the feeling of home they’ve built.

At Dark Lotus Tattoos, every tattoo tells a story — of growth, courage, and connection. It’s more than ink on skin. It’s a mark of transformation.
